Our visit to the Sorting Office / Ein hymweliad a'r Swyddfa Ddosbarthu.

As part of this term’s work about The Postman, Class 1 visited the Sorting Office in Holyhead. Mr Eifion Jones showed us around the office. The children were shown the big trolleys which the mail arrives on and then how and where it is sorted into the right bag to be delivered. They saw where the letters for Ysgol y Tywyn is placed when sorted. The children had been busy making cards to post. After they were  stamped the children posted them in the pink sack which went to Chester to be sorted. The sack arrived back in school the following day.

Dangosodd i ni y troliau mawr y mae’r post yn cyrraedd arnynt ac wedyn sut ac yn lle mae yn cael ei ddidoli a’I roi yn y sach cywir. Dangosodd Mr Jones I’r plant ym mhle ‘roedd llythyrau Ysgol y Tywyn yn cael eu rhoi. Yr oedd y plant wedi bod yn brysur yn ysgrifennu cardiau cyn mynd I’r swyddfa I’w postio. Ar ol iddynt gael eu stampio fe bostiodd y plant nhw mewn sach pinc. Fe aeth hwn wedyn I Gaer a daeth y postmon a’r cardiau I’r ysgol y diwrnod canlynol.

Handa’s Surprise

Ar ôl darllen llyfr Handa’s Surprise mae dosbarth 1 wedi bod yn brysur yn chwilio am wybodaeth am Kenya ac wedi mwynhau y sialens. Mae’r plant wedi cael y cyfle i greu murlun am y stori, chwilota yn y llyfrgell ac ar y we am wybodaeth am y wlad a chymharu eu ffordd hwy o fyw â ni yma yn Ynys Môn.

After reading the story ‘Handa’s Surprise’, class 1 have been busy gathering information about Kenya and the children have enjoyed the challenge. They have had the opportunity to create a wall frieze about the story, searching for information in the library and on the internet about Kenya and comparing their way of life to ours.

Y mae’r plant wedi bod yn brysur yn paratoi salad ffrwythau gyda ffrwythau sydd yn cael eu tyfu yng Nghenia.
We prepared a fruit salad with fruits which are grown in Kenya.

Cafodd y plant gyfle i greu rhythmau Affricanaidd gyda drymiau.
The children had the opportunity to create African rhythms using various drums.

Mae’n Ffantastig!! Beth ydych chi’n ei feddwl o ysbyty Dosbarth 1? Ydych chi’n meddwl bod ein meddygon a’n nyrsus yn gwneud gwaith da?

It’s Fantastic!! What do you think of Class 1’s hospital? Do you think our doctors and nurses are doing a good job?

Reception / Year 1 / Foundation Phase

Fel rhan o weithgareddau’r tymor hwn, mae’r plant wedi cael y cyfle i ddysgu am yr Hydref. Rhan o’r gwaith oedd adeiladu lloches addas a chlyd i’r llwynog bach gysgodi ynddo yn ystod y gaeaf. Bu llawer o drafodaeth a dadlau ymysg y plant ynglyn a lleoliad a ffurf addas i’r lloches. Cafwyd llawer o syniadau diddorol.

As part of this term’s work the children have had the opportunity to learn about the Autumn. Part of the work was to construct a suitable and comfortable den for the little fox to shelter in during the winter. There was a lot of discussion and debate about a suitable site and structure of this shelter. The children thought of many interesting ideas.
