The tomato plant

We have a fantastic tomato plant in our class which is still producing tomatoes since July last year.  I wonder how long it can go on?

Mae gennym blanhigyn tomato anhygoel yn ein dosbarth sydd wedi bod yn cynhyrchu tomatos ers Mis Gorffennaf! Tybed am faint y bydd hyn yn parhau!

How to use a thermometer

We had great fun measuring the temperature of snow and water.  You have to be careful when you hold a thermometer, you must not hold the bulb at the bottom!
Cawsom lawer o hwyl yn mesur tymheredd yr eira a'r dwr. Rhaid bod yn ofalus wrth afael mewn thermomedr ac ni ddylech afael yn y bwlb ar ei waelod.

Investigating Snow

In Class 2 we have been finding out how quickly we can melt snow.  We collected pots of snow and put them in different places.  We thought that wrapping the snow with fleece would melt it quickly because it would keep it warm; we were wrong!  The fleece stopped the snow from melting.

Yr wythnos hon yn Nosbarth 2 rydym wedi bod yn darganfod pa mor sydyn y gallwn doddi eira. Aethom ati i gasglu eira mewn potiau ac yna gosodasom y potiau mewn gwahanol fanau yn y dosbarth  i ddadmer. Roeddem yn meddwl y byddai lapio'r potiau mewn fflis yn toddi'r eira yn gyflym, ond roeddem yn anghywir!

Beic Smwddi/ Smoothie Bike

Daeth Mr Gwyndaf Pritchard o Eden i'r ysgol ganol yr wythnos gyda'i feic smwddi. Dangosodd i ni sut i wneud smwddi bendigedig a hynny drwy defnyddio pwer y beic. Roedd y beic wedi dod yr holl ffordd o Galifornia ac roedd yn ffordd wych o gadw'n iach ac yn heini.

Mr Gwyndaf Pritchard from Eden brought his smoothie bike to school and showed us how to make man/woman powered smoothies.The bike came all the way from California and was an excellent way to keep fit and healthy. The smoothies were yummy!

Gwneud cawl/Making soup

Cafodd plant Dosbarth 2 hwyl yr wythnos diwethaf yn gwneud cawl llysiau. Cafodd y llysiau eu torri fyny yn fan ac yna eu berwi gyda dwr a stoc cyw iar. Roedd yn flasus dros ben!

We made some delicious vegetable soup in Class 2. We chopped the vegetables and boiled them up with water and chicken stock. It was delicious!

Mr Campell and Dave

Ddiwedd yr wythnos daeth Mr Campbell a Dave i'r dosbarth i egluro i ni sut i gadw'n saff ar y mynyddoedd. Roedd gan Dave dair cot, sannau tew, esgidiau cryf a het gynnes. Roedd y plant wedi gwirioni o glywed fod y ddau yn gweithio gyda'r Tywysog William!

Mr Campell and Dave came to see us to explain about how to keep safe in the mountains. Dave had three coats! He also had thick socks, boots and a warm hat. The children were very excited to learn that Mr Campell and Dave work with Prince William!

Plannu bylbiau/Planting bulbs

 Bu plant dosbarth 2 yn brysur yn plannu bylbiau. Pan ddaw'r Gwanwyn rydym yn gobeithio gweld pentyrau o Gennin Pedr yn harddu'r lle.

Now is the time for bulb planting. We planted loads of daffodil bulbs by the school office and hope for a good display in the Spring.

Our Pets / Ein hanifeiliaid anwes

In Class 2 we have been busy learning about pets and how to care for them. Several children actually brought their pets into school and explained to their classmates how their pets liked to be treated.

Mae plant Dosbarth 2 wedi bod yn brysur yn dysgu am anifeiliaid anwes a sut i ofalu amdanynt. Daeth llawer o'r plant a'u hanifeiliaid i'r ysgol a chawsant hwyl yn sgwrsio amdanynt wrth weddill y dosbarth.

Another activity which was very much enjoyed by the class was bandaging. All pupils brought a soft toy into school and were given a variety of bandages to work with. It was great fun and the children learnt a great deal about folding into halves and quarters and measuring the length of different bandages.
Gweithgaredd hwyliog arall oedd rhoddi rhwymyn ar anifail. Daeth y plant a thegan meddal i'r dosbarth a chafodd pob un amrywiaeth o rwymau i'w defnyddio. Dysgodd y plant lawer am hanneru, chwarteru a mesur hyd gwahanol rwymau.
