P.C. Brian Jones

Heddiw ymwelodd P.C. Brian Jones a Tarian y Ddraig a ni. Bu'n sgwrsio am y bobl sy'n ein helpu yn y gymuned, yn arbennig y bobl hynny sy'n ein helpu mewn argyfwng .Cawsom brynhawn difyr iawn yn ei gwmni. 

Today P C Brian Jones and his friend Tarian the Dragon visited the school. He talked to us about the people who help us in the community, in particular the people who help us in an emergency. We all thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.

Kevin's Bullying Show

Yesterday Mark Griffiths visited the school with Kevin and his friends. The message was clear - We are all special in our own way and we should accept others for how they are.

Ddoe daeth Mark Griffiths a Kevin y pyped i'r ysgol. Roedd eu neges yn glir - rydym i gyd yn wahanol ac yn arbennig iawn ac fe ddylem dderbyn pawb am bwy ydynt. 

Marc Griffiths

Heddiw ymwelodd Marc Griffiths  y tafleisiwr a’r ysgol gyda’i bedwar ffrind Gorilla, Oreo, Lee a Doggy. Roedd ganddo neges bwysig i ni sef – 'Mae AUR ym mhob un ohonom ac yn eraill hefyd.' Cawsom brynhawn difyr dros ben ac rydym yn gobeithio eu gweld eto yn fuan iawn.

Today Marc Griffiths the ventriloquist visited the school with his four friends Gorilla, Oreo, Lee and Doggy. They all had a very important message – 'There’s GOLD in all of us and in others too.' We all had a very enjoyable afternoon and we hope to see them again very soon. 

Ymweld a Sartu

Cafodd plant Cyfnod Allweddol 1 fore difyr iawn ganol Mawrth pan aeth llond bws ohonynt i lawr i’r Uned Hyfforddiant Chwilio ac Achub. Treuliodd y disgyblion y bore yn dysgu am waith y peilotiaid a chyn dychwelyd i’r ysgol cafodd pob un gyfle i eistedd mewn hofrennydd. Profiad cyffrous yn wir!

Children from the foundation phase had a very interesting morning this month, when a bus full were invited to visit- Search and Rescue Training Unit. The children learnt about the very difficult and important work that is carried out here every day. The highlight of the morning was when each child was given the opportunity to sit in the helicopter.

Royal Charter

Pupils from class 2 have been learning all about the Royal Charter, the ship full of gold which sank off the coast of Moelfre in 1859. As part of this work, they visited Oriel Mon in Llangefni to see the Royal Charter exhibition and to watch the specially commissioned DVD. They then went on to Moelfre to have their lunch and to view the 'scene' of the tragedy.
Later on they visited Llanallgo church where many of those who perished in the storm were buried. We are very grateful to Mr Gwilym Hawes ex headteacher at Moelfre school and Mr Dafydd Evans church warden, for showing us around the inside of this 800 year old church.
They also showed us the commemorative obelisk which was erected by public subscription to remember the tragedy and those who perished.
The children thoroughly enjoyed their visit which helped to clarify a number of points discussed in class.

Yr wythnos hon bu Dosbarth 2 yn dysgu am y Royal Charter, y llong llawn aur a suddodd ger arfordir Moelfre ym 1859. Fel rhan o'r gwaith ymwelodd y plant ag Oriel Mon yn Llangefni ac yno gwelsant arddangosfa a DVD yn ymwneud a'r llongddrylliad. Yna aeth y plant i Moelfre i weld man y drychineb ac hefyd i fwyta cinio.
Yn y prynhawn ymwelodd y plant ag eglwys Llanallgo lle claddwyd y rhai a foddwyd. Roedd y dosbarth yn ddiolchgar iawn i Mr Gwilym Hawes, cyn-brifathro Ysgol Moelfre a Mr Dafydd Evans Warden yr eglwys am ddangos y tu mewn i'r eglwys hynafol iddynt. Gwelsant hefyd yr obelisg a gyflwynwyd i'r eglwys gan y cyhoedd i gofio'r drychineb a'r rhai a foddwyd.

Ymweliad y Frenhines/ Royal Visit

Roedd dydd Gwener diwethaf yn ddiwrnod cyffrous iawn i blant Ysgol y Tywyn. Cafodd yr ysgol wahoddiad i fynd i safle'r awyrlu i groesawu'r Frenhines a oedd ar ymweliad a'r ganolfan. Cludwyd pawb mewn bws i'r hangar newydd, ac roedd y plant yn llawn cynnwrf ac yn chwifio eu baneri pan gamodd y Frenhines a Dug Caeredin allan o'r cerbyd. Cafodd sawl un gyfle i sgwrsio a'r ddau, a bu'n foment fythgofiadwy i un o Blwyddyn 5 ac un o'r Dosbarth Meithrin pan gyflwynodd y ddau dusw o flodau i'r Frenhines.

Friday was a very exciting day for the the children of Ysgol y Tywyn. They were invited to the RAF base to welcome the Queen as she visited Prince William at the new hanger. Everyone waved their Welsh flags as the Queen came out of her car. Many children had the opportunity to say 'hello' as she walked passed. Two children, one from the Nursery class and one from Year 5 had a moment they will never forget as they presented the Queen with flowers.
