Eisteddfod Genedlaethol yr Urdd - Sir y Fflint / Urdd National Eisteddfod - Flint

Llongyfarchiadau mawr i'r plant hynny sydd wedi bod yn llwyddiannus yng nghystadleuaeth Celf a Chrefft  Eisteddfod Genedlaethol yr Urdd. Bydd y cynnyrch buddugol yn cael ei arddangos  yn yr Eisteddfod yn y Fflint ddiwedd Mai. Rydym yn hynod falch o'ch llwyddiant!

Congratulations to the children who have been successful in the Urdd National Art and Craft competition. The winning entries will be seen at an exhibition in the Eisteddfod in Flint at the end of May. We are all very proud of your success!

Church Bay - Porth Swtan

Bu Dosbarth 4 yn brysur iawn ddydd Iau diwethaf! Ar y ffordd i gasglu sbwriel ar lan-y-mor buom yn edrych ar ble y bwriedir adeiladu/addasu lôn i'r Wylfa Newydd (o'r Fali i'r Wylfa). Cawsom hefyd weld ble mae'r ysgol newydd ar fîn cael ei hadeiladu yn Lanfaethlu. 

Ar ol cyrraedd Porth Swtan dechreuodd fwrw glaw, felly cawsom ein picnic ar y bws. Roedd gwell hwyl ar bawb ar ol cael hufen ia o'r caffi! 

Cawsom amser prysur ar y lan-y-mor efo Ben Stammers o'r Ymddiriedolaeth Bywyd Gwyllt. Buom yn casglu sbwriel a darganfod llawer o fywyd gwyllt. Gwelsom grancod, pysgod, ac adar yn nythu.

Class 4 had a very busy day last Thursday! On our way to do the beach litter pick we saw where they're planning to build the new road for Wylfa Newydd (from Valley to the existing Wylfa). We also looked at where the new school is about to be built in Llanfaethlu. 

When we got to Church Bay we had to eat our picnic in the bus, but the rain didn't dampen our spirits, especially after a nice ice cream from the cafe! 

We had a busy couple of hours with Ben Stammers from the Wildlife Trust. We collected litter from the Strand Line, found lots of 'mermaids purses', lovely shells and stones, crabs and little fish. We saw some beach insects, Sea Anemones, Ravens and a nesting Fulmar. 

Whatever Next!

Yr wythnos hon, fel rhan o'r thema, bu plant y Feithrin yn dysgu am y lleuad. Mwynhaodd pawb wrando ar stori Jill Murphy- 'Whatever Next'. Stori yw hon am Babi Arth sydd yn mynd yr holl ffordd i'r lleuad yn ei roced. Dyma ni yn cael hwyl yn ceisio anfon Baby Bear yn ol i'r gofod, yn chwarae gyda gwahanol rocedi, yn creu creaduriaid bach y gofod, ac yn datblygu ein sgiliau mathemategol drwy chwarae Gem y Roced!

This week, the Nursery children have been learning about the moon.They all enjoyed listening to 'Whatever Next' by Jill Murphy', a lovely story about Baby Bear who found a rocket and went to the moon! Here they are trying to send Baby Bear back to the moon, playing with rockets, creating funny looking aliens and developing their mathematical skills by playing the Space Rocket Countdown game!

Worms/Pry Genwair

Last week Class 1 were doing some work on worms. We went out and about around the school to find worms and then we built them a Worm Hotel.

Trenau / Trains

Yr wythnos hon rydym wedi bod yn son am deithio ar dren! Dyma ni yn yn cael hwyl yn chwarae gyda trenau, yn mwynhau storiau am drenau, yn gwneud traciau ac yn chwarae rol drwy greu ein tren ein hunain!

This week it's all about trains! Here we are having fun playing with trains, sorting trains, listening to stories about trains, making tracks and even pretending to be a train!

Ymchwiliad Gwyddonol - Scientific Enquiry

Yn dilyn ein gwaith ar y tywydd ac ar Ynni Gwyrdd, roedd gan Dosbarth 4 gwestiwn i'w ateb - Pa fath o lafn byddai'n dal y gwynt orau ar dyrbin gwynt? Ar ol lot o waith ymchwil a trealu, roedd ein tyrbins yn barod. Penderfynom gyfri sawl gwaith oedd y llafnau yn cylchdroi mewn munud. Defnyddiom ffan i gynhyrchu 'gwynt'.  Roeddym wedi dychryn efo'r canlyniadau! Roedd yr un gorau yn troi hyd yn oed pan oedd o'n bell o'r ffan!

Following our work on the weather and on Green Energy, Class 4 had a question to answer - What sort of blade would catch the wind the best on a wind turbine? After a lot of research, trial and error, our turbines were ready to be tested. We tested them by counting how many times the blades rotated in a minute, We used a fan to generate 'wind'. We were amazed by the results! The best one continued to rotate at quite a distance away from the fan!

Flower arranging

Yesterday morning Miss Liz visited our class. She took us on a walk around the school to show us different types of plants and flowers. We saw Lavender, Foxgloves, Elaeangus, among many others. Following our walk, everybody had a go at flower arranging. We used the greenery that we had collected from our walk along with Chrysanthemums. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves and had a plant pot to take home. Thank you Miss Liz!
