WW2 Medal / Rationing

Last week children in Mr Williams' class visited Holyhead secondary school.  The theme of this term is WW2.  Years 4 and 5 were given the opportunity to design and make a medal for an evacuee for being brave.  The children were learning how to use a CAD programme and learn how a later printer will cut out their finished product. 
Year 6 were busy cooking.  They were given the recipe to 'Rock cakes'.  The children were busy preparing these cakes only using food that was available during the second world war.  Everyone was surprised to learn you could get more than 12 rock cakes out of a little amount of flour and 1 egg. 


Yr wythnos diwethaf aeth dosbarth Mr Williams i Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi. Fel rhan o thema'r dosbarth ar Yr Ail Ryfel Byd, cafodd  plant blwyddyn 4 a 5 gyfle i gynllunio a chreu medal i faciwi fel arwydd o ddewrder. Yn ystod y prynhawn, dysgodd y plant sut i ddefnyddio rhaglen CAD ac hefyd darganfod  sut y mae modd i brintar laser dorri allan gwaith gorffenedig.

Cafodd plant blwyddyn 6 gyfle i goginio. Cawsant riset ar sut i wneud 'Rock Cakes' drwy ddefnyddio cynhwysion a oedd ar gael yn ystod y rhyfel. Cafodd pawb syndod o weld fod modd gwneud deuddeg cacen allan o ychydig iawn o flawd ac un wy.

Gwasanaeth Diolchgarwch Y Feithrin/Nursery Thanksgiving Service

Fore Mercher yn neuadd yr ysgol cafwyd Gwasanaeth Diolchgarwch y Feithrin a'r Dragonflies.Roedd y plant bach ar eu gorau yn diolch i Dduw ar gan am y pethau sy'n eu gwneud yn hapus!

On Wednesday morning in the school hall the Nursery children and Dragonflies took part in their annual Thanksgiving Service. The children were in fine voice and thanked God for all the things which make them happy.

Padre Stu

This morning we were visited by Padre Stu. With Thanksgiving fast approaching, we were told a story that made us think about just how lucky we are when talking about food.  He made us think of all those miles a pizza has travelled when you break up all those nice toppings and which country they came from.  Thank you for your visit and we hope to see you again soon.

Bore heddiw, a ninnau ar drothwy'r Wyl Ddiolchgarwch, ymwelodd Padre Stu a'r ysgol. Adroddodd stori a wnaeth i ni sylweddoli pa mor ffodus yr ydym fod bwyd yn cyrraedd ein byrddau mor rhwydd. Diolch Padre am alw a gobeithiwn eich gweld eto yn fuan.

Sheila

Dydd Gwener daeth Miss Bethan Jones a Sheila i edrych amdanom. Dydd Llun bydd y ddwy yn cychwyn am Awstralia. Ganol yr wythnos rydym yn gobeithio derbyn neges E bost ganddynt o Sydney yn dweud eu bod wedi cyrraedd yn saff!

Last Friday Miss Bethan Jones and Sheila came to visit. On Monday they will be leaving for Australia. They have promised to send us an E mail from Sydney to say that they have arrived safely!

Beic Smwddi/ Smoothie Bike

Daeth Mr Gwyndaf Pritchard o Eden i'r ysgol ganol yr wythnos gyda'i feic smwddi. Dangosodd i ni sut i wneud smwddi bendigedig a hynny drwy defnyddio pwer y beic. Roedd y beic wedi dod yr holl ffordd o Galifornia ac roedd yn ffordd wych o gadw'n iach ac yn heini.

Mr Gwyndaf Pritchard from Eden brought his smoothie bike to school and showed us how to make man/woman powered smoothies.The bike came all the way from California and was an excellent way to keep fit and healthy. The smoothies were yummy!

Gwneud cawl/Making soup

Cafodd plant Dosbarth 2 hwyl yr wythnos diwethaf yn gwneud cawl llysiau. Cafodd y llysiau eu torri fyny yn fan ac yna eu berwi gyda dwr a stoc cyw iar. Roedd yn flasus dros ben!

We made some delicious vegetable soup in Class 2. We chopped the vegetables and boiled them up with water and chicken stock. It was delicious!

Mr Campell and Dave

Ddiwedd yr wythnos daeth Mr Campbell a Dave i'r dosbarth i egluro i ni sut i gadw'n saff ar y mynyddoedd. Roedd gan Dave dair cot, sannau tew, esgidiau cryf a het gynnes. Roedd y plant wedi gwirioni o glywed fod y ddau yn gweithio gyda'r Tywysog William!

Mr Campell and Dave came to see us to explain about how to keep safe in the mountains. Dave had three coats! He also had thick socks, boots and a warm hat. The children were very excited to learn that Mr Campell and Dave work with Prince William!
