Admissions 2017 / Mynediad 2017

March 1st is the closing date for admissions for September's Nursery Class (for children who will be 3, September 1st 2017) and Reception class (for children who will be 4 on September 1st 2017). Please ensure your application form is returned to school as soon as possible.   Please share this message with any parents in our catchment area.

Ffair Lyfrau - Book Fair

Diolch i bawb a ddaeth i'n ffair lyfrau ni heddiw. Roedd y plant yn edrych ymlaen at gael mynd adref i ddarllen eu llyfrau newydd!

Thank you to everyone who came to our Book Fair today. All the children were very excited to get home to read their new books!

Waterproof Materials

Today class 1 have been investigating which materials are waterproof. We then looked at the materials through a microscope to see why the materials that aren't waterproof absorb water. The children discovered that the kitchen roll and cotton had lots a tiny holes in them.

India

This week in Class 1 we have been learning about India. We've been making elephant masks, and colouring in flags; we've also been trying to find India on a map of the world.

Rhif 1 / Number 1

Yr wythnos hon rydym wedi bod yn dysgu am rhif 1. Rydym wedi dysgu sut i ffurfio'r rhif yn gywir ac hefyd adnabod y rhif drwy amrywiaeth o gemau a gweithgareddau.

This week we've been learning about number 1. We have learnt how to correctly form the number and  recognise the number through games and activities.

Pizza

This week in Class 1 we made pizzas as part of our week learning about Italy.

Y Gwynt / The Wind

Yr wythnos hon rydym wedi bod yn sgwrsio am y gwynt. Dyma ni yn chwifio sgarffiau, yn ceisio chwythu cychod ar y dwr, yn actio stori'r gwynt a'r haul ac yn rhoddi dillad ar y lein - yn y drefn gywir wrth gwrs! Rydym hefyd wedi defnyddio hen fwrdd golchi i olchi dillad cyn eu rhoddi allan i sychu!

This week we have been talking about the wind. Here we are waving scarves, blowing boats across the water, acting out the story about the north wind and the sun and hanging clothes on a clothesline - in the right order of course! We also used an old washboard to wash some of the dolls clothes before hanging them out to dry!

Penguins

At the beginning of the week Class 1 read the story 'Poles Apart', we have been copying some of the pictures from the book; everybody enjoyed doing this and the children drew some lovely pictures. Following on from the story we have been learning about penguins. We have been on a penguin hunt to find penguins, and on the back of the penguins were facts about the smallest and the tallest penguins.
We have also been learning about numbers 11-20, we have been making number lines in class ...with penguins of course.
It has been a very busy and fun week in Class 1.

Neges Cristnogol - A Christian Message

Bore ma daeth Mr Earnest, Mr Davies, Christine a Lydia or Eglwys yn Rhosneigr i'n gweld. Cawsom wasanaeth diddorol iawn oedd yn cynnwys straeon o'r Beibl.

This morning Mr Earnest, Mr Davies, Christine and Lydia from the Church in Rhosneigr came to visit us. We had a lovely service that included stories from the Bible.

Sgwariau / Squares

Yr wythnos hon, rydym wedi bod yn dysgu am sgwariau. Cawsom hwyl yn printio a thynnu lluniau o sgwariau, matsio sgwariau, gwneud sgwariau gyda playdoh a mynd ar helfa sgwariau! Mwynhaodd pawb wneud ogof hefyd i Elmer yr eliffant clytwaith.

This week we have been learning about squares. We had lots of fun drawing and printing squares, making playdoh squares, matching squares and looking for squares outside on the yard! We also enjoyed making a cave for  Elmer the patchwork elephant.
