Ymweld a Sartu

Cafodd plant Cyfnod Allweddol 1 fore difyr iawn ganol Mawrth pan aeth llond bws ohonynt i lawr i’r Uned Hyfforddiant Chwilio ac Achub. Treuliodd y disgyblion y bore yn dysgu am waith y peilotiaid a chyn dychwelyd i’r ysgol cafodd pob un gyfle i eistedd mewn hofrennydd. Profiad cyffrous yn wir!

Children from the foundation phase had a very interesting morning this month, when a bus full were invited to visit- Search and Rescue Training Unit. The children learnt about the very difficult and important work that is carried out here every day. The highlight of the morning was when each child was given the opportunity to sit in the helicopter.

Cystadlaeaeth Celf a Chrefft Rhanbarth Mon

Llongyfarchiadau i’r plant hynny o Ysgol y Tywyn a fu’n cystadlu yng nghystadlaethau Celf a Chrefft yr Urdd yn ddiweddar. Yn dilyn gwaith caled cafwyd 12 gwobr gyntaf, 12 ail wobr a 6 trydedd wobr. Bydd y cynnyrch buddugol yn cael eu hanfon yn awr i’r Genedlaethol yng Nglynllifon ac yn cael eu beirniadu ddiwedd Mai.

Congratulations to the children who competed in the Urdd Art and Crafts competition. After a lot of hard work, the school gained 12 first prize, 12 second place and 6 third place prizes. The work that achieved first prize will now be send to the National competition at the end of May.

Steve Riley

Thank you to Steve Riley for coming to visit the school to give us a short presentation about his recent trip to the Antarctic. The children were very lucky to see the equipment he used and were shown videos giving an idea of just how cold it was out there and just how hard it was to walk in all the snow for 8 weeks.

Llawer o ddiolch i Steve Riley am ddod i'r ysgol i sgwrsio am ei daith ddiweddar i'r Antarctig. Cafodd y plant weld yr offer a ddefnyddiwyd ganddo ac hefyd dangosodd fidio o'r amgylchiadau anodd a wynebodd yn ystod yr wyth wythnos y bu'n anturio.

Eflyn- Llyn Cerrig Bach

Last week Eflyn Owen came to visit years 5&6 to talk about Llyn Cerrig Bach and its history. She was very kind to bring artifacts and images of what was found many years ago when the RAF were building the runway. The children were fascinated to learn that actual Celts possibly lived where the school building lies now!!

Yr wythnos ddiwethaf daeth Eflyn Owen i'r ysgol i sgwrsio gyda plant Blynyddoedd 5 a 6 am Lyn Cerrig Bach. Roedd ganddi nifer o wahanol arteffactau a lluniau o'r gwrthrychau a ddarganfuwyd flynyddoedd yn ol wrth i redfa'r awyrennau gael ei adeiladu. Roedd y plant wedi rhyfeddu pan ddywedwyd wrthynt efallai i'r Celtiaid fyw ar y tir lle saif yr ysgol heddiw.

Sports Relief 2012

Heddiw bu'r ysgol gyfan yn cymryd rhan yn 'Sports Relief 2012'. Roedd yn ddiwrnod o godi arian drwy wneud nifer o wahanol weithgareddau bywiog. Daeth y plant i'r ysgol mewn gwisgoedd chwaraeon amrywiol a rhedodd pob dosbarth filltir! Cafodd bob plentyn ei wobrwyo a chacennau lolipop siocled wedi eu gwneud gan un o'r mamau. Bydd yr arian i gyd yn mynd i gronfa 'Sports Relief '.

Today the school took part in Sports Relief 2012. It was a day of active fundraising! The children came to school in various 'sporting attire' and every class 'ran a mile'! Each child was rewarded with a chocolate cake lolly made by one of our mums. All money raised will go towards the Sport Relief Charity.

Dangerpoint / Pentre Peryglon

Dydd Mercher cafodd Blwyddyn 5 a 6 ymweld â Pentre Peryglon. Tŷ yw Pentre Peryglon sydd yn codi ymwybyddiaeth y plant i'r holl beryglon sydd o’n gwmpas yn y cartref, allan ar y lon ac hefyd ar y traeth.

On Friday Year 5&6 visited Dangerpoint. This is a house that raises awareness of the dangers children could be faced with in the home, on the road and even on the beach.

Ffurfio 'f'/ 'f' is for frogs

Yr wythnos hon fel rhan o'n thema 'Tyfu', rydym wedi bod yn son am frogaod a phenbyliaid. Rydym hefyd wedi bod yn dysgu sut i ffurfio'r lythyren 'f'.

This week as part of our theme work on 'Growing' we have been learning all about tadpoles, frogs and the letter 'f'.

Ymarfer Corff/ Our First PE Lesson

Fore Mawrth mwynhaodd plant y Feithrin eu gwers Ymarfer Corff gyntaf! Dyma nhw yn cael hwyl yn gwneud siapiau gwahanol gyda'u cyrff!

On Tuesday the Nursery children enjoyed their first PE lesson! Here they are making different body shapes!

What a match!!

On Friday Ysgol y Tywyn played their Albert Owen Cup Match against Amlwch. The game was end to end, with the game after extra time ending 1-1. This meant that the match had to be decided with penalties. Congratulations to Amlwch on winning 3-1.

Well done Tywyn, you should be proud with how you played.

Dipyn o gem!

Dydd Gwener bu tim peldroed Ysgol y Tywyn yn cystadlu yng nghwpan Albert Owen a hynny yn Amlwch. Bu'n gem hynod gyffrous ac agos iawn! Pan ddaeth y chwiban olaf roedd y sgor yn gyfartal 1 - 1 ac oherwydd hynny aeth i giciau o'r smotyn. Y sgor terfynol oedd 3 - 1.

Llongyfarchiadau Amlwch ond da iawn Tywyn am chwarae mor arbennig o dda.

Rhif 3/ Number 3

Yr wythnos hon rydym wedi bod yn dysgu am rhif 3. Cawsom hwyl yn ymarfer ffurfio rhif 3, yn pysgota am rif 3, yn gwneud rhif 3 o glai, yn paentio rhif 3 ac yn gwneud setiau o 3.

This week it's been all about number 3! We have been learning how to write number 3, fishing for number 3, made number 3 with play-doh, painted number 3 and made sets of 3.

Dydd Gwyl Dewi Sant/Saint David's Day

Dydd Iau bu plant y Dosbarth Meithrin yn dathlu dydd Gwyl Dewi Sant. Cawsom fore amrywiol, llawn hwyl. Uchafbwynt y bore oedd dawnsio gwerin allan ar yr iard. Fel y gwelwch o'r lluniau cawsom lawer iawn o hwyl!

On Thursday in the Nursery we celebrated Saint David's Day. We had a morning full of fun activities but the highlight was folk dancing out on the yard. As you can see we all enjoyed ourselves!

Cyflymder Ceir / Speed of Cars

Years 5 & 6 were visited last week by two police officers that work on the 'Arrive Alive' van.

Children were given the opportunity to monitor the speed of passing cars outside the school, how many were wearing seat belt and also keep a tally of the most popular mode of transport.

The children were shocked to witness one car travelling at 49mph and another at 42mph passing our school; which is a 30mph zone. The police officers were quick to stop these cars and have just a quiet word.
The message from years 5 & 6 is, PLEASE WATCH YOUR SPEED.

Yr wythnos ddiwethaf ymwelodd dau aelod o'r heddlu a'r ysgol. Roedd y ddau yn rhan o ymgyrch Hedddlu Gogledd Cymru, Siwrne Saff, sy'n canolbwyntio ar leihau damweiniau drwy annog gyrrwyr i yrru'n ofalus. Cafodd y plant gyfle i fonitro cyflymder y ceir wrth iddynt yrru heibio'r ysgol ac hefyd sicrhau fod y teithwyr yn gwisgo gwregys.

Roedd y plant wedi synnu o weld un car yn gyrru ar gyflymder o 49mya ac un arall ar gyflymder o 42mya mewn parth 30mya. Cafodd yr heddlu air distaw yng nghlust y gyrrwyr euog hynny! Felly'r neges gan blant Blynyddoedd 5 a 6 yw

GWYLIWCH EICH CYFLYMDER!

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Today, years 3-6 were given the opportunity to go to Venue Cymru in Llandudno to watch the West end show, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
'Retelling the Biblical story of Joseph, his eleven brothers and the coat of many colours, this magical musical was full of unforgettable songs including Any Dream Will Do, Close Ev'ry Door To Me and One More Angel.'
Everybody thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and everyone was a credit to Ysgol y Tywyn for their behaviour.

Heddiw cafodd disgyblion Blynyddoedd 3 - 6 gyfle i fynd i Venue Cymru yn Llandudno i wylio Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Roedd yn sioe hynod ddifyr, yn frith o ganeuon bythgofiadwy ac yn brofiad arbennig iawn i'r plant.
